Seminar: Using Adaptive Focused Acoustics for ChIP-Seq and Total Nucleic Acid Extraction of NGS-grade DNA/RNA from FPPE Tissue

March 12, 2015 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Speaker: Reese Harry, SouthEast Covaris Inc., Sales Specialist

There are many methods for processing FFPE (formalin-fixed paraffin embedded) samples for further analysis using next-generation sequencing techniques.  Using Covaris’ adaptive-focused acoustics, we have optimized many of the tedious steps needed to ensure full integrity of sample.  We will discuss several case studies as well as new techniques for processing these precious samples.  Additionally, the intricacy of ChIP-Seq studies for targets other than histones requires a sensitive and precise method for analysis that is not readily achieved by current techniques.  In this seminar, we will explore now technologies for sample preparation that will ultimately improve sensitivity and accuracy for all downstream genomics, transcriptomics and proteomic approaches for the future.
