Join us on February 7th for a lunch and learn with ICBR NextGen DNA Sequencing and 10x Genomics in CGRC 133.

 

Event Title: High Resolution Biology with 10x Technology 

Description:  In this seminar, we will take a closer look at the technology and how researchers like you are using 10x Genomics to advance their research. 10x Genomics Chromium technology is a transformative upgrade to short-read sequencing, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of biology than traditional methods.  The Chromium Single Cell 3’ Solution provides high-throughput gene expression analysis from hundreds to millions of individual cells, enabling the discovery of gene expression dynamics and molecular profiling both between and within individual cell types.  Extended to immune repertoire profiling, the Chromium V(D)J Solutions allow researchers to sequence full-length, paired V(D)J transcripts from hundreds to millions of individual lymphocytes, uncovering unprecedented high-resolution understanding of the immune system.  Not to be outshone, DNA solutions from 10x Genomics unlocks critical long-range information on a genome-wide scale, including variant calling, phasing and extensive characterization of genomic structure with the Chromium Genome and Exome Solutions.

Background on 10x Genomics: 10x Genomics technology enables high-throughput single cell RNA-seq for gene expression analysis and immune repertoire profiling of TCRs and BCRs. Using the power of Linked-Reads to provide long range information using short read data, 10x Genome and Exome solutions enables to fully resolve genic phasing, characterize structural variation, including fusions, and detect variants in previously inaccessible and complex regions of the genome.
