Imaging – Utilizing Existing Resources and Filling the Gap (with Proteomics and GE Healthcare)

April 21 @ 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

In this 2-part presentation, we will review the virtues of 2D-DIGE for differential-display proteomics studies and also host-cell protein contaminant analysis in bioprocessing.  The Typhoon laser scanner is a versatile instrument for multiplex fluorescence imaging and we will explore the many applications in can be used for.

Then we will explore the advances in CCD camera imagers, offering high-performance sensitivity for chemiluminescence Western blotting.  We will consider the benefits of transitioning fully away from the dark room and X-ray film developer.  A demonstration will follow. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own samples for imaging (chemiluminescence, white-light densitometry, UV, fluorescence).
