Proteomics Seminar Series 2013: 2D-DIGE Spot-On Accuracy
September 25, 2013 @ 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Speaker: Dr. Roberto Diez, Field Applications Scientist, GE Healthcare Life Sciences
Presented by GE Healthcare Life Sciences and UF Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research.
2D-gel electrophoresis is a very powerful separation tool and is commonly used to isolate proteins of interest for proteomic studies. The application of 2D-DIGE (Difference Gel Electrophoresis) alleviated some of the key problems facing researchers using traditional 2D-gel electrophoresis. This powerful technique utilizes the multiplexing of samples on the same gel to incorporate an internal standard that virtually eliminates gel to gel variation. All the steps in the workflow will be discussed with suggestions on how best to maximize the quality of data generated. Application examples and novel applications for Bioprocess development will also be introduced.
Questions: Sixue Chen, Proteomics Division Director
Refreshments will be provided to attendees.
