Sigma Seminar: New CRISPR Tools and Duolink
September 13, 2016 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
We are pleased to announce that Sigma Aldrich will be conducting a CRISPR seminar as part of the partnership with UFL-ICBR on Tuesday September 13th 12:00PM – 1:20PM
Additionally, Sigma’s Scientific Liaison will be available for project consultation on Tuesday September 13th from 1:30PM-4:00PM.
Duolink: The New Standard in Protein Interaction Studies
Based on the Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA), Duolink technology can be combined with qualified antibodies to outperform traditional immunoassays, such as co-IP, through simple and sensitive in situ detection of endogenous proteins. This technology enables the visualization of protein interactions in fixed cells and tissue samples, all while under endogenous protein expression. This seminar will demonstrate Duolink’s ability to:
- Visualize individual interactions without having to overexpress proteins
- Gain high specificity with dual binding of primary antibodies
- Single molecule sensitivity due to signal amplification
- Analyze using standard immunofluorescence instruments
New CRISPR Tools: CRISPR for Plant, CRISPR Activators, Synthetic CRISPR, and CRISPR Libraries
The talk will examine the various methods in which CRISPR can be employed to genetically engineer plants. Sigma will also explore the dCas9-p300 CRISPR activator system, which provides the capability to increase the transcriptional activity of a target gene; in addition to exploring CRISPR in synthetic format, which may improve gene-editing efficiency and reduce off-targeting. Finally, MilliporeSigma’s pooled and arrayed CRISPR library capabilities will be toured.
