The ICBR Gene Expression & Genotyping core now offers digital PCR, providing increased resolution and sensitivity for DNA quantitation. ICBR now can provide you orders of magnitude greater sensitivity and digital precision to your nucleic acids quantitation projects using the Bio-Rad QX200. Digital PCR is ideal for virus detection, requiring less material to start and allowing low gene copy numbers.

biorad-qx200The Bio-Rad QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System provides absolute quantification of target DNA or RNA molecules using EvaGreen or probe-based chemistry. The new system provides for fast turnaround, with a completion rate of 384 samples (96 well plate format) per day.

Data analysis can be performed on your own computer using free, downloadable QuantaSoft Manager Software from Bio-Rad. Applications for the new instruments include, but are not limited to:

  • Cancer biomarker studies and copy number variation
  • Pathogen detection and viral load analysis
  • Next generation sequencing library quantification
  • Gene expression analysis including miRNA studies
  • Gene editing and CRISPR analysis
  • Single cell analysis
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Food testing and environmental studies
